Breathwork Therapy

What is it?

Breathwork

Or Rebirthing as it was previously known, was founded by Leonard Ore in the early 1970's. It seems it is time now for the mystery and magic of this beautiful therapy that seems to have been popular with many who embraced alternate therapies, to be brought out more and presented to main stream society for all to enjoy the benefits of.

Breathwork Therapy

Is a conscious form of connected circular breathing, gentle in it's application dynamic in it's results!

It is both a simple physical technique and profound emotional cleansing tool.

Breathwork offers a powerful means to understand ourselves more fully...enhancing and developing personal, emotional and spiritual awareness and allows for deep healing and growth to occur.

The effectiveness of a session requires no prior experience in anything except being alive and being able to breathe on ones own!

When was the last time you noticed your breath?

All of us have watched babies sleeping peacefully, but have you ever noticed how they breathe? These gorgeous little beings know exactly how to breathe fully...watch as the breath moves all the way down the babies belly...how are you breathing now?

For most of us our breath is unconscious we don't notice it, however if we did we would more than likely notice our breath stays high in our chests, why is this?

As babies we breathed fully but as life experience, trauma events etc happened we held our breath literally (reaction to trauma) over years we accumulate these unexpressed and repressed emotions and stored them in our body.

The Breathwork experience arguably is one of the best stress management tools on the planet today. It has value for several reasons. People are realising how physical ailments and diseases can stem from unresolved emotional tensions. The energy in these unresolved tensions will not be denied in our lives; it has to be expressed one way or another.

Breathwork Therapy is a technique which works directly on the deepest emotional levels.

What happens in a Breathwork session?

The sessions are very relaxed we begin with a conversation relating to what is happening in your life at present, any reacurring issues you feel are hindering you. Any known issues that may be effecting your relationship with self and others, health concerns or the impact of stress maybe discussed.

Breathwork is experienced lying down, the therapist sits by your side and supports you to breathe in a cyclic manner, using the breath in this manner (consciously) expands our awareness on all levels.

We come to understand:

  • The way we express deaden or contain our emotions
  • What we deeply (and often unconsciously ) believe about ourselves and about life
  • The way in which we inhabit our own bodies
  • Our deepest longings and desires
  • Our soft and vulnerable places
  • How we relate to our intimates, family, friends and the world.

This understanding rises to the surface of our awareness as we breathe in a full and conscious way, and may occur in any or all of the following way:

With mental imagery and insightful thoughts

  • Through re-experiencing past events
  • With release of energy, including emotional release
  • Through body sensations
  • With soulful and spiritual experiences of the self

Past trauma, emotional blocks, physical illness and suffering are encourage to the surface into full consciousness where they can be addressed, resolved and healed.

Breathwork is a transpersonal therapy which naturally evolves into the realms of soul and spirit where we may experience our blissful connection to the core essence of being or source.

A gentle yet powerful breathing process that affirms the desire to live in the moment. A place where we live fully with an open heart and the richness of being our authentic self.

Breath is the bridge that joins body and mind...

a powerful tool for transformation, change and healing.

Illumination

Breathing deeply is a "now" moment (a decision...an affirmation) that we are willing to take in all that we deserve, all that our heart desires. Exhalling deeply means we are willing to let it all go, in a moment of time and allow the universe to mould us into the next "form" we have chosen to take.

Each inhale is a  rebirth, each exhale is a transformation.
